چکیده

We discuss the exact chiral symmetry and its spontaneous breakdown in lattice QCD with the Dirac operators satisfying the GinspargWilson relation. The axial vector current, which turns out to be related to the vector current simply by the insertion of the operator γ5(1−aD), is explicitly constructed in the case of the Neuberger-Dirac operator. We also consider an Euclidean proof of the Nambu-Goldstone theorem using the Ward-Takahashi identity of this symmetry. e-mail address: [email protected] e-mail address: [email protected] 1 Recently, two Dirac operators which describe exactly massless fermions on a lattice have been proposed. The first one is the fixed point Dirac operator considered by Hasenfratz et. al. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5] based on the renormalization group method [6, 7]. The second one is the Dirac operator derived by Neuberger [8, 9] based on the overlap formalism of chiral determinant [10, 11] and its explicit form is known as aDnm = (

Canonical Approach to Ginsparg-Wilson Fermion

Based upon the lattice Dirac operator satisfying the Ginsparg-Wilson relation, we investigate canonical formulation of massless fermion on the spatial lattice. For free fermion system exact chiral symmetry can be implemented without species doubling. In the presence of gauge couplings the chiral symmetry is violated. We show that the divergence of the axial vector current is related to the chir...

Chiral symmetry restoration and axial vector renormalization for Wilson fermions

Lattice gauge theories with Wilson fermions break chiral symmetry. In the U(1) axial vector current this manifests itself in the anomaly. On the other hand it is generally expected that the axial vector flavour mixing current is non-anomalous. We give a short, but strict proof of this to all orders of perturbation theory, and show that chiral symmetry restauration implies a unique multiplicativ...

Axial U(1) symmetry in the chiral symmetric phase of 2-flavor QCD at finite temperature

We discuss the fate of the axial U(1) symmetry in 2-flavor QCD at finite temperature, where the non-singlet chiral symmetry is restored. We first summarize the previous theoretical investigation on the relation between the eigenvalue density of the Dirac operator and the axial U(1) symmetry. We show that the eigenvalue density near the origin behaves as λ γ with γ > 2 in the chirally symmetric ...

The axial anomaly of Ginsparg-Wilson fermion

The axial anomaly of Ginsparg-Wilson fermion operator D is discussed in general for the operator R which enters the chiral symmetry breaking part in the Ginsparg-Wilson relation. The axial anomaly and the index of D as well as the exact realization of the Atiyah-Singer index theorem on the lattice are determined solely by the topological characteristics of the chirally symmetric operator Dc in ...

Lattice Fermions and the Chiral Anomaly

We show in the Wilson model that the contribution of the regular mass term to the four-divergence of the axial vector current in weak coupling perturbation theory is not zero in the chiral limit and precisely is the axial anomaly. Explicit breaking of chiral symmetry in the Wilson term is not relevant for the result. The ABJ anomaly is generated by the fermion mass term also with a chirally sym...
